CABIN COUNSELORS

Our amazing cabin leaders, alongside their co-leaders, are the heart and soul of our camp, caring for a spirited group of 8-10 campers. These rockstar leaders make the magic of camp happen! With a passion for working with kids and a love for the outdoors, our cabin leaders are key players in creating unforgettable experiences. Every morning, they bring joy and excitement to cabin and camp activities and every evening, they dive into all-camp fun. These Leaders are not just caretakers; they’re responsible, positive role models who tackle each day with boundless energy and enthusiasm. 

Saddle up and join our adventurous team as a wrangler, where you’ll help plan and lead Camp Classen’s beloved horse program. This role is perfect for those who have a passion for teaching campers how to ride and a deep knowledge of caring for our wonderful herd. As a Wrangler, you’ll lead exciting trail rides and ensure safety procedures are tip-top at the barn. Previous riding experience is a mustBeyond the reins, Wranglers dive into the full camp experience, participating in the vibrant camp life and lending a hand in other program areas. This is your chance to make a lasting impact and create unforgettable memories for our campers. 

Love camp life and have a knack for organization? As our office assistant, you’ll work closely with the director of guest services, keeping things running smoothly. You’ll need top-notch computer and phone skills, and a willingness to pitch in on partial weekends. If you’re organized, enthusiastic, and passionate about camping, this role is perfect for you! 

Do you have a passion for providing tasty and nutritious meals? Our food service staff play a crucial role in ensuring that campers are well-fed and energized for their adventures. Working under the guidance of our Food Service Manager, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that keeps the dining hall running smoothly. Quick learner and a love for camp life are a must!

(Ages 16 and up) Are you ready to make a splash this summer? Join us as a camp lifeguard and be the hero of the lake! Your mission: keep our campers safe while they have the time of their lives swimming, splashing, and soaking up the sun. You’ll be the guardian of the water, ensuring everyone follows the rules and stays safe. Plus, you’ll get to lead fun water games and activities that our campers will love. From teaching kayaking to help with Aquafest, you’ll be at the heart of the action. If you’re a strong swimmer with a passion for safety and fun, we want you on our team! Join us as the ultimate guide for our camp programs and staff! You’ll be the mastermind behind all camp games, evening programs, themed skits, and epic events. Your mission: to inspire and lead with enthusiasm, ensuring every activity is a hit. You’ll handle program activity signups and program areas like a pro. Plus, you’ll show everyone how to care for and store equipment properly, making sure everything is in tip-top shape. From setting up to cleaning up, you’ll ensure every program and event runs smoothly. Are you a photography and videography whiz with a passion for storytelling? We’re looking for a media lead to capture the unforgettable moments of Camp Classen! As our media lead, you’ll document the summer’s adventures through stunning photos and videos, uploading photos daily and creating an end-of-week video for camp families to treasure. You’ll work closely with our senior director and program team to ensure all content aligns with Camp Classen’s values. Previous experience in photography and videography is a must. Beyond your core duties, you’ll dive into the full camp experience, participating in camp life and assisting in other program areas as needed. Leadership Stewards

Overnight Camp Summer Leadership Stewards

Ready to inspire the next generation of camp leaders? As our CLP (Camper Leadership Program) Stew, you’ll help plan and lead dynamic programs for campers aged 15-16, including Leader-In-Training (LIT), Counselor-In-Training (CIT), and Wrangler-In-Training (WIT). You’ll also accompany and guide CLP campers on their exciting week-long adventure trip! This adventure trip is a highlight of the program, offering campers the chance to explore the great outdoors, develop survival skills, and bond with their peers. It’s an incredible opportunity for campers to push their limits, build confidence, and create lasting memories. As an exceptional role model, you’ll guide campers with responsible decision-making and unwavering respect for others. Your leadership will help shape the next generation, fostering a positive, nurturing environment where teens can thrive. Join us as a CREW Unit Stew!  You’ll guide 16-year-old CREW staff members through their first camp positions, helping them transition from the Camp Leadership Program (CLP) to active camp staff roles. Not everyone wants to be a cabin counselor, but they still want to be part of something bigger and support camps’ success.  As a CREW Unit Lead, you’ll oversee and support these new staff members, helping them set up and run all-camp activities, challenges, theme nights, and more. You’ll also assist with daily activities, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable camp experience for everyone. As the 89ers Unit Stew, you’ll create epic experiences that our campers will remember forever. You’ll guide the cabin staff and campers to reach their fullest potential and help them build strong connections with each other and the great outdoors. Join us as the Navigator Unit Stew for campers ages 10-11! This role is more than just a job; it’s a chance to make a real difference. You’ll support staff and campers, foster teamwork, and grow your leadership skills in a positive, nurturing environment. Make a difference in the lives of our youngest campers (ages 7-9)! You’ll support and coach our amazing cabin Leaders, plan epic weekly activities, and address camper behavior with patience and positivity. Plus, you’ll help plan and implement exciting all-camp games that everyone will love. If you love the great outdoors and have previous camp and leadership experience, this is the perfect role for you! 

Ready to make a splash this summer? As the Waterfront Stew at Camp Classen, you’ll oversee all the fun and excitement at our beautiful waterfront! This role is perfect for those with lifeguard experience who are passionate about safety and water activities

Key Responsibilities: Ensuring the waterfront is safe and free from hazards, supervising lifeguards and enforcing waterfront rules, coordinating swim schedules, teaming up with the assistant program director to plan our epic weekly Aquafest and organizing and implementing safety drills and emergency procedures. But that’s not all! The waterfront lead will also get to embrace the full camp experience, participating in camp life, leading in a cabin when needed, and assisting with other program areas.
